my grandpa had a 65 massey that would stick in rev. if you would try shifting out of rev. before the wheels would stop turning. their should be a big hex head bolt sitting on top of the trans. to the left of the gear shift that is the cap looking down into the trans. take that off and you will see the bottom of the shifter take your screwdriver or pry bar and pry it out of gear. hope this helps it did me a lot of times.

ok so on normal starter motors u have a huge thick cable which is permanent live straight from the battery this is the main supply which goes to the big terminal normal like a 12 mm nut on it and then u have a smaller trigger cable that’s normal on a spade connector which is just the trigger cable from the relay and then the earth is normal done threw the casing of the engine block

One Response to Massey Ferguson Tractors | Ferguson odds-on to change Dugan

  1. Mooned Y!A says:

Ha ha. I don’t know much about tractors, but I searched the Internet to see if I could find anything. Somebody asked about wiring a 231 on a forum, and this was the only response they got. I hope it helps. Good luck:

The solenoid for my Ford 1710 terminals are coded on my wiring diagram as B and S (probably battery and solenoid). The solenoid itself has two threaded and one bayonet terminal. The battery line plus one smaller line that goes to the dash go on one threaded terminal (probably the one coded B) and the line to the motor goes on the other (it’s probably uncoded or maybe M for motor). In no event should the battery and motor lines go on the same terminal because it would energize the starter. The tractor definitely should be in neutral during all testing.

You can see the whole post here. There was something about an ohm meter??????:
