| My Cub Cadet lawn tractors engine shuts off when i go up a hill.? This is the first time i rode it in about a year. It has half a tank of gas and there seems to be gas running to the engine? Oh lets explore this property… could we get inside the house?
it has ‘Posted’ signs all over the place. it is definitely trespassing! the driveway to the property comes right out to the rail trail about a mile south of the tunnel. you can see the barn from the trail, on the right. I didn’t see a way into the house, but i didn’t go around back. the windows are knocked out, most are boarded up. there is a house nearby and they prolly own this property…..so there is a chance of getting caught. However, only a little further down the trail there is a similar house right smack along the trail that you can walk around and even go inside. the pics i got of it aren’t that good though. but it is so bad i don’t know if i’d want to walk around much inside
the tractor is at an angle that suggests it just answered the door and is like wtf do u want?

@the42IHfarmallguy no, idk the piping size to use on a 16hp i think a 1 3/4 pipe. I used 2 12in pipe,elbow and a IH1 muffler. I got all of it at TSC. Make a brace from the stack to one of the head bolts.
hello. i asked mrcubcadet107 if it was difficult to put a stack on a 1650(i believe thats a kohler k341 motor). i was directed your way. so is it difficult to put a stack on a 1650??

Got the LTX1050 with Kohler Courage engine. It’s had 2 new short blocks, only has 70 hours on it and was 2 years old in May. A real piece of crap! Hope you have better luck with yours than we did ours. Thankfully, engine still under warranty due to warranty extension from class-action lawsuit.
@SuperGozzy yeah they put break-in oil in it and right now its got regular oil
did u put oil in it they dont put oil in them anymore you have to put oil in before u start it

@Bkleifgen3 after one mowing season with mine I must say it’s a great tractor. i was skeptical about buying it cause it’s made by MTD and i had a ’99 White tractor by MTD that i sold when i bought the Cub. it was a smaller tractor and i hated it. pure garbage. only had it 1/2 a year. I think my Cub now has about 38 hours on it and its Kohler is running strong! the only thing i hate about it is the mulch kit. it mulches leaves very well but the cover for the deck is a cheap, stupid design.
@Bkleifgen3 cub cadet is made by MTD so even if you get a cheaper one it wont really matter lol your just paying for that name
@mhtube01 I also have the 1046 cub cadet with the 23HP V-twin engine. I got it 3years ago i think but it is awesome. It would sweat if the hood was metal and if it have a On/off switch for the head lights. But other than that i have No problem with it works great have no problem getting up the hill in my back yard. I have to lean forward because the hill is so steep. I have put almost a 100 hours on mine. I would recommended for people to buy cub cadet over anything.
nice! i have the same tractor except mine’s the 1046. not the VT so it has the 22hp Kohler Courage series engine. Personally I prefer Kohler over Briggs and Stratton but that looks like a nice engine you have there. Mine also makes that ridiculous rattling noise and at first I thought there was something wrong with the tractor. No idea why it does it. I also wish the hood was metal and there was a headlight on/pff switch. But oh well. I’ve used it a few times so far and it’s an awesome tractor!

It does look nice, but, my preference for a Cub Cadet would be between 1969 and 1984.
Trivia: Although MTD bought CC from International Harvester in 1981, as a result of the latter’s corporate downsizing scheme, IH continued to put its marque on all post-1981 CC product until its agricultural division (the “Harvester” part) was sold to Tenneco in 1984, thus ending the IH we knew and loved. The truck division became Navistar in January of 1986.

I tried the Ex3200 and they ain’t kidding. These things are nice. Only things lacking are a Factory A/C Cab and a Self Leveling loader.
